CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University’s newest Catamounts will receive their official welcome to the university during the 2017 New Student Convocation beginning 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at WCU’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center.

Jordan Carlos, a stand-up comic and television personality best known for appearances on HBO’s “Girls,” “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” “The Colbert Report” and Showtime’s “The Affair,” will speak on the topic “Find Out What You Don't Want to Do.”

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina head baseball coach Bobby Moranda has announced the addition of two-time All-America selection Bryson Bowman to his coaching staff. Bowman, who concluded his collegiate career in 2017, joins the staff as the volunteer assistant coach.

CULLOWHEE – The 2017-18 Mainstage season of Western Carolina University’s School of Stage and Screen features Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, beloved theatrical classics and new works along with two dance showcase events and the school’s renowned end-of-the-year film festival.
“This is our most ambitious and thrilling season yet,” said Jayme McGhan, director of the School of Stage and Screen.

The men and women who perform those duties are the unsung heroes for the annual event, named this year as a top 20 festival in the Southeast, said Stacy MacGregor, WCU special events direct and Mountain Heritage Day co-chair.
