What is going on with the weather lately? I have lived in the mountains of North Carolina for nineteen years and have never seen anything as crazy as the weather we have been experiencing recently. The fact that I live an hour away from campus makes the weather a little more difficult to deal with at times, but I mainly find it fascinating.
Greek life is a popular and exciting way for students to become more involved at their university. It is composed of Greek Organizations that contain individual chapters, or sections, of Fraternities and Sorority members. Greek life is not only a way to get nvolved, but it is a commitment to volunteer work, to meeting new friends and to supporting a unique philanthropy.
Western Carolina University takes great pride in their musical endeavors. From the “Baddest Band of the Land”, referring to the Marching Band which has over five hundred members, to our symphonic and pep rally bands, music is not taken lightly on this campus.
Recently, a poll was held that included nominations for Western’s upcoming spring concert. The leading nominations go as follows: Secondhand Serenade, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, David Cook and Parachute. Students had the ability to vote on these nominations for the upcoming spring concert, as they do every year.
For the first time in fifteen years, something monumental is happening in North Carolina. No, ‘N Sync is not getting back together to do a world tour, much to this writer’s sadness. What is happening is so much bigger than that, as it affects almost everyone in the states, especially some of the students here on campus.
