Finals are right around the corner and students should take advantage of whatever resources come their way. Studying is a must, but another helpful way to get through finals season is tutoring. Here at Western Carolina University, we have a wonderful tutoring center known as the Writing and Learning Commons (WaLC). While this is an effective resource for students, it can be hard to schedule an appointment when finals are closing in. Luckily, HelpHub is another great resource you can use.

Joshua Russell, Program Coordinator for film and television production and Assistant Professor of stage and screen at Western Carolina University, was born and raised in the Chicago area. He met his wife Megan and they lived in the Windy City for most of their lives. They began to feel the desire to get out of the Midwest and look elsewhere.

Russell heard of a position opening up at Western Carolina and decided to apply. Though a finalist at many other universities, being coordinator of the program drew him to Western Carolina.

Western Carolina University’s gaming club, Whee Game, strives to be a place of inclusion and fun. The club started almost 10 years ago by a group of guys who enjoyed gaming together.

Every Saturday the club gets together in the University Center Cardinal Room from 5 p.m. until midnight. This is a time dedicated to playing games together and is open to anyone interested.
