Hopefully you recall a time when someone gave you a handmade card expressing their admiration for you, or wishing you a “Merry Christmas.” During the first home football game of the year on Sept. 9, the Pride of the Mountains marching band debuted their new production for 2017, which is entitled “Take Note!”

CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University’s newest Catamounts will receive their official welcome to the university during the 2017 New Student Convocation beginning 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at WCU’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center.

Jordan Carlos, a stand-up comic and television personality best known for appearances on HBO’s “Girls,” “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” “The Colbert Report” and Showtime’s “The Affair,” will speak on the topic “Find Out What You Don't Want to Do.”

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina head baseball coach Bobby Moranda has announced the addition of two-time All-America selection Bryson Bowman to his coaching staff. Bowman, who concluded his collegiate career in 2017, joins the staff as the volunteer assistant coach.
